An organization that will connect African American brands and individuals to the Fashion industry.

This is a step in the right direction!

For years, blacks have discussed their frustration of there being a lack of representation in the fashion industry. Now we are being heard! Organizations are reaching out to African Americans to extend a helping hand.  Bravo!

Organizations such as www.RaiseFashionNow.org, (a group of retailers and fashion executives) that formed an advisory organization that will provide free operational, marketing and creative consulting for Black founders and professionals.)

 According to Business of Fashion, Board members are stationed in the United States and United Kingdom. The CEO's are Carly Cushnie, creative director and CEO of her own label; Elizabeth von der Goltz, Net-a-Porter’s global buying director; Nayla Touma, another Net-a-Porter buying director; Roopal Patel, SVP & fashion director at Saks Fifth Avenue; Alexa Geovanos, president of North and South America for ChloĆ©; April Hennig, president of Jonathan Simkhai; Nelli Kim, retail consultant and former executive at Shopbop and Caleres; and Felita Harris, co-founder and CEO of retail technology platform Enform Sales and former executive at Alexander Wang and Lela Rose.


The group has also partnered with Harlem's Fashion Row, founded by Chief Executive Officer Brandice Daniel in 2007, to mentor recipients of the ICON360 grant starting in September. It was designed to help struggling designers during Covid-19 pandemic.
